Are Montblanc Pens, overrated?

If so, what other pen makers are comparable or better than Montblanc pens?|||I have never written with a MontBlanc pen, but I have written with gold Cross pens and I don't like them. They slide in your hand and they do not write nicely. I had a boss that had a MontBlanc fountain pen and it did look nice when he signed his name with hit, but it sounded scratchy when he wrote. I personally have never written with a fountain pen that has written nice.|||I own a Mont Blanc Meisterstuck ballpoint pen. The black ink has changed in the last two years and is now more grey. It is not as strong a black and weaker in colour than a $2 pen.

I sent back my refills back to the Sydney Mont Blanc store and they have not replaced them!

All the reviews are five star. I, actually, prefer the Pigma micron. They're cheap and if you drop them you don't have a big repair bill. They flow smoothly and I can draw with them, too.|||These reviews coming from people say......no.

The reviews read like this.....

" You really deserve this pen"

" Great Ballpoint Pen"

Of the fountain pen family.......Mont Blanc/Parker/Pellikan,

There is one that is said to be comparible. It's called the Stipula.

Stipula itself goes back to Roman days in definition:

Stipula was the small straw that the ancient Romans used to split in sign of acceptance of a commitment
